The People of the Memorial

This page commemorates a selection of the people named on Grange Hill War Memorial from the First and Second World Wars.

Every month one person is featured on the Friends of Grange Hill notice board, situated on the corner of Grange Hill and Grange Old Road, West Kirby. The same details are posted on this site’s blog at the beginning of the month, and are detailed on this page. Clicking on a name will take you to the related blog post.

For each First World War death much fuller information can be found on The Imperishable Record. This is a website documenting all the men and women of the area who died during the First World War, and covers more names than those on the War Memorial.

Research on the Second World War deaths has been done by Carol Hunter of West Kirby Museum Research Group. Any additional information on these men would be welcomed by Carol, who can be contacted via West Kirby Museum.
